THREE men today pulled off a $5 million heist in a sensitive and heavily secured part of the Piarco International Airport.
The thieves held up Amalgamated Security Services Limited officers at around 11 a.m.
Police were tight-lipped on the incident but the Express was told that the men were dressed in camouflage clothing and masks.
Carrying high-powered weapons, the thieves gained access to the tarmac and held up the security officers guarding a cargo cart containing the cash.
They escaped with the cash in a vehicle.
Officers of the Central Division Task Force and Caroni Police responded and a search is on for the suspects.
