The 62 year old St. Kitts Bottling Company Ltd has been sold and employees last day of work is November 30, 2016.
According to a Winn Fm report “The over 30 employees of the Bottling Company met with two Board Members last Wednesday and then with Koscab officials the next day to discuss the sale and its implications on staff.
The Bottling Company and Koscab, the local distributor for Coca-cola, signed an agreement for Koscab to purchase the assets of the Bottling Company and to take over operations of the plant effective December 1st, 2016.
On Tuesday employees were issued with letters spelling out the conditions of their termination. The letter indicated the Bottling Company will “honor all of its statutory obligations to employees, specifically as it relates to pay, notice of termination, and accumulated vacation”.
The letter indicated that over the coming week individual meetings will be held with each employee to discuss their status and to answer any questions they may have.”,said the Winn report.
Freedom Fm called the SKBC’s Keithly Phillip on Friday but was referred to TDC’s Nick Mennon and TDC Chairman Conrad Kelly. We were subsequently told that an official release concerning the Bottling Co will be issued on Monday 14 November 2016
