Deputy PM Shawn Richards Says “No Disunity in Unity.”

August 11, 2016 in National

ShawnRichards-1PM and Minister of Youth, Culture, Sports the Hon Shawn K Richards told a national radio audience on Wednesday that there is no disunity within the ranks of the UNITY Government.

Responding to a question posed by the host of “Working for You” Lesroy Williams about whether or not the Unity government led by Peoples Labour Party Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris was crumbling, the PAM representative for constituency #5 said that he had heard and seen a variety of rumors displayed on the political front in his 14 years of political activism.

Richards said the TUG had “jelled” and had done so rather well in spite of opposition claims that the Unity coalition was falling apart. “Similarly to you I’ve heard rumors that there is disunity within the TUG.

Well I don’t know if they are referring to the cabinet members because I am not aware of any disunity within the cabinet, when we had the retreat a few Saturdays ago I can recall on one of the facilitators asking to list some of the success of this particular government and some of the failures of this particular government, when it was my turn to respond I said for me the greater success of this government is the fact that you have a government of three (3) different political parties and to date the government has jelled together and has jelled together extremely well.”

Following the recent retreat held by the Team Unity Government, they were claims made that the PAM fraction of government had called on Pm Dr Timothy Harris to resign. But the deputy said unreservedly that this was not the case. (INSERT) Shawn Richards speaking on Wednesday’s edition of the government information program “Working for You.”
