Dominican police officer stabbed in St Kitts

stabbing-1A Dominican national who is a member of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is currently nursing a stab wound following an altercation on August 15.

According to reports from the St Kitts & Nevis Observer the altercation ensued between the officer and a resident of Butlers Village, Nevis.

The Observer also understands that on Sunday the Butler’s resident who goes by the name “Evans” enters into a church in Butlers and began a fight with the pastor. A compliant was made and the police began their search for the young man.

The Observer stated further that the young man was found on Monday afternoon in Butlers. “It is unclear what happened to cause the altercation between the young man and the officer but the officer was left stabbed and taken to the Alexandra Hospital where he is currently nursing his wounds.

The Butlers resident was taken into police custody,” the Observer stated. Brian Pacquette a Dominican who also served as a police officer in St Kitts died in July 2016 as a result of being shot in the leg.

On June 23, 2016 Pacquette was shot during a scuffle when he and another officer went to investigate a larceny report. Pacquette, who served in the St. Kitts Police Force for ten years before his passing, was given a military style funeralon Tuesday (Aug 9).
