October 10, 2014 in Sports

SKNFootballTeam-SeniorPort-au-prince, Haiti- Wednesday 8th October saw the St. Kitts-Nevis Senior Men’s National Team suffering defeat to Barbados.

St Kitts and Nevis netted in the 12th and 86th minute with goals from Devaughn Elliott and Harrison Panayiotou respectively. In the Haiti vs French Guiana game it was the hosts who went ahead in the 29th minute. One minute later French Guiana drew level with a goal from Solivi Michael. Jean Alcenat scored in the 45th minute ending the first half 2-1. During the second half French Guiana took it to the hosts and equalized again in the 54th minute. With no more goals coming from either teams this game ended 2-2.

This means that Barbados is at the top of the table with 3 points, French Guiana and Haiti are tied at one and St. Kitts-Nevis is scoreless. The last time St. Kitts-Nevis played French Guiana was at home in 2012 during a tropical storm which forced both teams to play on a waterlogged pitch. That game ended three goals to nil in favour of French Guiana.

We wish the St. Kitts-Nevis Senior Men’s National Team the best of luck in the remaining games.
