Premier of Nevis Hon. Vance Amory, will be part of a joint effort to promote investors and agents for Financial Services in London from October 20-23, 2014. The promotion effort will see the Premier holding meetings with leaders in the Financial Services and International Financial corporations in London.
It will be done in conjunction with Attorney Jan Dash and representatives of the local companies, among them, Walwyn Law, Jirehouse, Christophe Harbour, NTL Trust, Apex Capital Partners and Akerman.
Premier Amory will be joined by the Director of the Nevis Investment Promotion Agency Kimone Moving, to continue the series of promotion exercises with Henley and Partners, the principal promoters of the Citizenship by Investment Programme, at the 8th Global Residence and Citizenship Conference in Singapore from October 28th to 30th.
The Conference is considered one of the largest global promotion efforts of its kind. It is expected that the forum could provide opportunities for development for economic growth in Nevis and by extension St. Kitts and Nevis.
While in Singapore, Premier Amory and Miss Moving, will have additional meetings specific to marketing the Nevis Financial Services. The meetings scheduled for October 31 and November 01, have been organised by a group of professional intermediaries in Singapore, who have been conducting business with the Nevis Financial Services Department.
Meanwhile NRP Senator Carlyle Powell told a Freedom Fm ISSUES audience on Monday afternoon that Premier Amory’s trip overseas was another globe trotting exercise and a waste of tax payers money. Powell said that the premier spends more time on a plane than looking out for the people of Nevis.
Powell said that people of Nevis no longer see his visits as news, but merely for him (Amory) to collect a per diem. Powell reiterated that it was Premier Amory’s 16th overseas trip for the year and up to the moment there were no benefits for Nevisians. Powell called on Amory to deal with the 10 acres of prime Nevisian land and to answer why funds from the sale of the land was sent to Octagon Consultancy Services.
Powell said the CCM had no vision or plan for the development of Nevis.
