The federation of St. Kitts and Nevis has recorded its 30th murder for 2016.
There are reports that Jamal McSheen was shot and killed in a car Saturday night at Bird Rock.
A PRESS release issued by the police stated that “The Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) is investigating a shooting incident in Bird Rock that has resulted in the murder of one person. The shooting occurred at around 10.45pm on Saturday (December 03). Investigations revealed the victim Jamal McSheen, a 33 year old male was shot by an unknown assailant. Investigators from the Violent Crimes Unit and the Criminal Investigations Department and technicians from the Forensics Services Unit have canvassed the scene for evidence. The investigation continues”.
Freedom Fm called Commissioner of Police Ian Queeley to get his view on the 30th murder in St. Kitts- Nevis for 2016 and the fact that there is a 70% detection rate for murder cases. Calls to the Commissioner’s cell phones were not returned.
Freedom Fm also called the Permanent Secretary for National Security Mr Osmond Petty to verify whether the RSS would be returning to the federation as announced by Prime Minister Harris at a recent press conference. Mr Petty was in a meeting and did not return our call.
