A search operation in Molineux has resulted in the removal of the 16th firearm from the streets of St. Kitts and Nevis.
While searching the area outside the perimeter of a property in Molineaux on June 16, Officers in Division B found one (1) 9mm pistol and nine (9) rounds of matching ammunition. No one is currently in custody in relation to the find. Technicians from the Forensic Services Unit visited and processed the scene.
Superintendent Travis Rogers, Acting Divisional Commander for Division B, explained that the Police were taking a proactive approach to rid communities around the federation of crime.
“We are stepping up our efforts to help reduce the incidence of crime, but we cannot do it alone. We are asking the public to cooperate by giving information that will lead to making arrests. Our Officers have pledged to give their fullest support,” Superintendent Rogers.
This week alone, three (3) firearms have been taken into Police custody – two (2) in Nevis and one (1) in St. Kitts through targeted operations by the Police Force and joint operations with other law enforcement agencies.
