Former prime minister Dr. Denzil Douglas
Former Prime Minister of SKN, Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas said in a recent edition of “Issues” that the election promise made by Team Unity to give Nevis a fair share of $300 million from SIDF funds is nothing but deception.
Douglas inquired where this money would come from and said that it was not easy to find $300 million just like that. He further indicated that the Nevis Island Administration (NIA) should hold the Team Unity Government to that promise.
Dr. Douglas also addressed the issue of the payments for the sale of land and houses to ordinary Kittitians, who are now being told that their payments are not being accepted.
Douglas said that if the Government attempted to take back land and housing already allocated it would lead to confusion and trigger a revolution in the country. He urged nationals not to allow their properties to be taken away on the altar of politics.
