Every year, on 14 June, countries around the world celebrate World Blood Donor Day (WBDD). This event was established in 2004 and serves to raise awareness of the need for safe blood, blood products and to thank blood donors for their voluntary life-saving gifts of blood.
Transfusion of blood and blood products helps save lives every year. It can help patients suffering from life-threatening conditions live longer and with higher quality of life, and supports complex medical and surgical procedures.
The ST.Kitts-Nevis National Blood Transfusion Services in collaboration the St.Kitts Music Festival Committee is extending an invitation for you to come out and donate or register as a voluntary blood donor. The annual blood drive is scheduled for Saturday 13th June, 2015 at the West Independence Square from 10am -1pm.
The theme of this year’s campaign is “Thank you for saving my life”
