Mr. Jonathon Bass, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the St. Christopher Air & Sea Port Authority (SCASPA) has been sacked by the Team Unity Government.
Speaking to Freedom Fm early Monday morning, Bass said the termination letter was delivered by hand by the New SCASPA Chairman Don Boncamper on Sunday 21st June, Father’s Day. Bass who had served as SCASPA’s CEO for the past 3 years said the letter terminated his employment effective 21/6/15 thanking him for his service and requested that he return the office and vehicle keys by 22/6/15. Bass stated that he will return all SCASPA’s keys in his control no later than today Monday 22nd June.
The former CEO said that he has just returned from a Port Management Association of the Caribbean (PMAC) meeting in Suriname where he was elected Vice President. At that meeting the St. Kitts – Nevis destination was adjudged the second best most improved port for 2014 with Barbados copping the top prize.
Bass said it was while he was at the PMAC meeting in Suriname he received a tip that his service was being terminated by Team Unity Government.
Bass told Freedom Newsdesk that under his watch as CEO, SCASPA made an EC $11 million profit in 2014.
