We might not have seen the last of Tracy McGrady in an NBA uniform.
The former All-Star swingman, who retired in 2013, worked out with Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant this summer to gauge if he can make a comeback, Yahoo Sports/FOX Sports 1 NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
“Yes, I was working out with K.B. to get in shape and see how my body feels,” McGrady told Yahoo Sports in an email Tuesday night. But McGrady added in the email, “The comeback will not happen, unless I have the drive whenever I get back.”
McGrady, who last played in the NBA with the San Antonio Spurs in 2013, worked out three days a week in August, according to the report. McGrady, 35, has a contractual obligation to a basketball tour of China in October, which will directly conflict with the start of NBA training camps.
McGrady had a brief stint as a starting pitcher with the Sugarland Skeeters of the Independent Atlantic League last spring.
