Former Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis and Leader of the St Kitts Nevis Labour Party, the Hon. Dr Denzil Douglas, is congratulating the Prime Minister elect of Trinidad and Tobago and Leader of the People’s National Movement (PNM) Dr Keith Rowley on defeating the coalition People’s Partnership (PP) of Prime Minister Kamla Persad- Bissessar that came to power in 2010.
The preliminary figures showed that the PNM won 22 of the 41 seats with the remaining 19 going to the PP that had won 29 seats in the 2010 General Election.
Dr Douglas explained that he felt that the victory had been in the making for some time. Comparing the coalition People’s Partnership (PP) of Prime Minister Kamla Persad- Bissessar to the Team Unity Government in St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Douglas said that a group of people came together with the sole purpose of removing a government that was doing well for the people.
Dr Douglas explained that the people of St Kitts and Nevis should pay attention to what has happened in Trinidad and Tobago as there are lessons to be learnt.
