The two men held in last week’s historic drug bust at Conaree Beach on St.Kitts have been unofficially identified .
Obie “Small Breeze” Baron and Greg Williamson, were intercepted by St.Kitts-Nevis Police attempting to smuggle almost $1 million worth into St.Kitts .
Acting Commissioner of Police Stafford Liburd disclosed that two men approached the Conaree beach about 5 a.m., watched by police as a result of intelligence gathered. When police identified themselves, one man in the boat opened fire on the officers, who returned fire killing the gunman.
A police dive team later retrieved a partially loaded pistol from the sea, as well as some of the narcotics thrown from the boat..
Reports are that Two Kittitians were found in the area and were arrested along with Greg Williamson who is reported to be the owner of the boat.
Both Williamson and Baron are well known drag racers and drag racing enthusiast.
Williamson has participated in several drag meets in Nevis.
Meanwhile, Freedom Fm received a report from the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force stating:
In relation to a drug bust last Thursday , 01 October, 2015, by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, the three (3) persons arrested have been formally charged. The operation yielded 124 pounds of compressed marijuana.
Arrested and formally charged are:
Tenielle Percival aka “Blaze” of Lime kiln, who was arrested and charged for the offences of Possession of a controlled drug, Possession with intent to supply and importation of control drug.
Greg Williamson of Antigua, was arrested, charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of a controlled drug, Possession with intent to supply and importation of control drug.
Kenrick Simmonds was arrested, charged and cautioned for the offences of Obstruction under the Electronics Crime Act and Incite to import under the Drug Act.
The Police are continuing their investigations and it is likely that more charges will be brought for all the persons.
