NRP Leader, Joseph Parry says there is a crisis of sorts in Nevis when it comes to crime.
The veteran politician speaking on Freedom Fm’s “Issues” on Tuesday said there was a need for trust between police and the community and said the current Nevis Island Administration was not doing enough to deal with crime.
Recalling the present shooting death of young Philo Wallace, Parry said he wished to approach that matter from a holistic standpoint and mentioned several unsolved murders in Nevis that were bothersome.
Parry said crime should be the number one priority in St. Kitts and Nevis as citizens are terrified.
Parry said Nevis is upset over the death of young Wallace and feels that the young man should not have been shot.
Parry said Nevisians have lost confidence in the police and there is a lot of tension in the community.
Parry said this was a time for the nation’s leaders to step out and speak.
