One day after announcing the 2015 State Scholar, the Ministry of Education is officially recognising the top four students in this year’s CXC-Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) Examinations.
The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) has confirmed what the local Ministry of Education suggested when it named the Verchild’s High School’s Tassaney Steinbergen as the top CSEC student for the May-June 2015 exams.
Steinbergen offered 15 subjects and attained 13 Grade One passes and two Grade Two passes.
Xavier-Jon Bass of the Washington Archibald High School offered 12 subjects, all of which returned Grade One passes while his colleague, Orwencia Haynes, also of the Washington Archibald High School, offered 10 subjects and earned eight Grade One passes and two Grade Two passes.
The Charlestown Secondary School’s Nekhaila Tyson also came in for high praise as she offered 15 subjects and earned 11 Grade One passes and four Grade Two passes.
ZIZ News understands that Bass produced the Most Outstanding Performance in Business in St. Kitts and Nevis with Haynes copping the Most Outstanding Performance in Humanities and Tyson receiving the Most Outstanding Performance in Technical and Vocational Studies for St. Kitts-Nevis.
