Speaking on Freedom Fm’s popular talk show “Issues” recently, Dr Drew explained that while on the campaign trail he had been approached by medical colleagues and they told him that he was needed at the JNF General Hospital. Drew indicated that he assumed duties at the hospital as he considers serving his people as his number one priority.
Dr Drew revealed that he was approached by specialists at the hospital since then who advised him that he was needed at the hospital.
He said that he had applied to the Ministry of Health but had yet to receive any response.
Freedom Fm reached out to the Minister of Health who at that time declined to comment stating that he was willing to address all accusations on a later program.
However, Government friendly online media organization St Kitts-Nevis Times has quoted a source close to the government who claims that Dr Drew is being less than truthful.
The article which has since been removed charged that Dr Drew had abandoned his post at the hospital after the February 16th general elections. The government source also claimed that Dr Drew was approached by an official from the Ministry who offered him a position at the hospital shortly after the elections, a post that Dr Drew refused.
Attempts were made on Monday morning for comments on the issues of Dr Drew’s employment but proved futile. Freedom Fm was however able to speak with Dr Drew who slammed the St Kitts-Nevis Times article.
