Seventy-one-year-old former Barbudan Senator Lynton Thomas said he intends to pursue legal action against current Senator Adrian Lee following an altercation between himself and Lee which landed him in the hospital, Saturday evening.
Thomas, who represented the Barbuda Peoples’ Movement [BPM] had to seek medical attention at the Hannah Thomas hospital where he received several stiches to close an open wound to the forehead.
He is also nursing a cut to his upper lip and a swollen nose, from the incident.
Senator Lee was taken into custody the same evening and was still in police custody up to the time of going to press.
Thomas told OBSERVER media yesterday, he was upstairs the property, called the Lounge, which he owns and operates, when the female bartender on duty told him that some beverages – a case of soda and Ribena – were missing from the store room.
The elderly man said he went down stairs to investigate and found Senator Lee at the door of the establishment.
Thomas said to avoid a confrontation, he proceeded to close the doors of the business.
