Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Social Services is denying reports that track and field athlete Timoy Henry will receive only $5000 USD to expedite further treatment to his right shoulder, after he was shot in the neck by an off duty police officer at the Frigate Bay Strip in June.
The bullet travelled through his neck and lodged in his right shoulder. Henry has gone through two (2) surgeries and his right arm is paralyzed as a result of bone and nerve damage.
Henry told Freedom Fm then that he was told by Social Services personnel that he would receive USD $5000.00 to assist in defraying expenses for further specialized medical treatment to this shattered right shoulder.
But Acting Permanent Secretary Janelle Lewis told WINN FM recently that the quotation would be upgraded after further costs were ascertained about Henry’s medical condition, treatment and assessment by a neurologist.
Henry’s family meanwhile along with the local track and field club have established and account at National Bank and have held fund raisers to assist Henry with his medical expenses.
