ST CATHERINE, Jamaica (January 23rd 2016):- — Caribbean Sprint Icon Kim Collins continues to defy logic as just months before his 40th birthday he opened his outdoor season at the GC Foster College Central Hurdles and Relays meet with a blistering 6.53-second clocking to win the men’s 60-metre dash on Saturday.

The St Kitts -Nevis National Sports Hero ran from lane three in the Clubs and Institutions category. He had a slight stumble at the blocks but still managed to blaze to a comfortable win.

Collins told the Jamaica Observer News Online “It is very nerve-wracking when you come into situations like these where you expect to be the winner. So I was very nervous, but I am happy with the performance and it’s a great track, great facility, so I am just happy to be able to come and run a great time and walk away injury-free.”

The the proverbial “ageless wonder” Collins is the current World Masters Record Holder in the 100m and 60m and has won 6 World Championship medals including 2 Silvers at the World Indoors and a Gold and 3 bronze at the World Outdoor Championships.
