Kevin Jeffers outlined in detail the activities that would be held on those days inclusive of stalls, youth involvement, and activities such as hydroponics, backyard gardens, plant propagation and technology.

Agriculture Extension Officer Lionel Stevens said that despite the lack of resources and challenges that farmers face, he was positive about the future of agriculture in SKN.

Stevens said the threats and devastation of crops by monkeys, wild pigs and humans, has led to improved fencing techniques by farmers.

Land preparation, access to water and supplies are further problems that farmers have to cope with.

Stevens said the government while offering some assistance to farmers, there was nothing to demonstrate the essential and vital dynamic of agricultural development.
