Ministry of Education and school officials are scrambling to deal with possibly one of the worst cases of bullying in the nation’s schools that has been made public.
Two videos surfaced Tuesday evening showing a group of female students of the Charles E. Mills Secondary School holding down a younger male student, pulling down his pants and exposing his genitals. In one of the videos the females are seen sitting on the boy, who is a first or second year student, jamming his head against concrete steps, and poking him in the mouth with a pen causing him to bleed. This was recorded by a student’s cellphone and other students could be heard using curse words, laughing and jeering, none of whom told the aggressors to stop or tried to help him.
The public was further outraged at social media posts allegedly made by one of the lead aggressors appearing to brag about what had been done to the young man, telling people to mind their business, that they could call her name all they liked and to #*@& off.
The incident reportedly happened at the school on Monday and according to an Education official who saw the videos late Tuesday, an investigation will be launched and then the Ministry will react accordingly.
Many are calling what happened to the young man a case of sexual assault and said if it had been a female whose private parts had been exposed in that manner, the school, police, and Ministry officials would have moved more swiftly.
Freedom FM made several calls to police units to ascertain if any reports had been made with respect to the incident but was unsuccessful.
