Parliamentary Representative for St. Christopher 2 (Central Basseterre), Hon. Marcella Liburd has expressed congratulations to two of her constituents for attaining significant milestones.
“Sincere and warm congratulations to Pastor Michael Penny, a son of McKnight, who was ordained as a pastor of the Antioch Baptist Church on Sunday,” said Ms. Liburd.
Pastor Penny is the son of Urban Penny, who served as the first deacon of the Antioch Baptist Church.
His ordination took place during the Thanksgiving Service to celebrate the 55th Anniversary of the Antioch Baptist Church which she attended.
The two-term parliamentarian also congratulated Pastor Lincoln Connor, another son of McKnight, “for his excellent leadership over the past 15 years and his ability to draw young people to the Church.”
She noted that Pastor Penny in his response before an overflowing congregation spoke from his heart and won the admiration of all.
“Congratulations to Momma Sylvia Penny and the entire Penny family. We know how proud you feel about Michael’s elevation and share in your joy,” said Ms. Liburd, who wished Pastor Michael Penny “every success as he continues his mission as a servant of God, spreading the Gospel throughout his Church, his Community, his Country and beyond.”
Also among the congregation were Leader of the Opposition, the Right Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas; the Hon. Konris Maynard and Dr. Earl Asim Martin.
