Former Chairman of the People’s Action Movement (PAM) Lawyer and Team Unity supporter Chesley Hamilton demonstrates Friday outside Parliament which is in Session debating the 2017 Budget to put pressure on Team Unity Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris and Attorney General Vincent Juicy Byron to pay him thousands of dollars owed him for representing capital cases on behalf of the Government:
“I’m just demonstrating because I need to be paid. I’ve already worked. The government owes me for a number of cases. I’ve been appointed by one branch of government and the other branch refuses to pay and they want me to go back to the branch that appoint me which is the judiciary. I am not in that. The executive must pay me and I want to be paid…. When they’re going away with their double salary, I don’t have no money.” Chesley Hamilton
Meanwhile chairman of the people’s labour party, Douglas Wattley is urging the TUG to pay Hamilton his money.
On social media Wattley wrote, “I stand with Chesley ‘Barcoleco’ Hamilton. Pay the man his money. The former Government did not pay him, but that was not his government. Two years on and the government for which he raised funds to pay for a flight into St. Kitts for people to vote and put them into power still don’t want to pay him. Those who talking smack, they are getting but they did nothing to bring about the victory from which they now benefit hugely. Why don’t they talk about politicians who took in millions of dollars and hardly put a cent to Team Unity’s campaign? I know one of them; pay de man he damned money”.
