Delta Air Lines will add a new flight once a week from JFK New York to Antigua each Saturday, beginning December 20, 2018.
As seen in Delta’s newsroom www.news.delta.com
The increased service is due to strong demand to visit Antigua and Barbuda, and will include weekly flights between New York City and Antigua from December 2018 to March 2019. The flights will leave New York at 8:35 a.m. every Saturday and arrive in Antigua at 1:50 p.m. Returning flights will leave Antigua at 2:30 p.m. that same afternoon and arrive in New York at 6:30 p.m.
In addition to the expanded New York service, Delta will also begin its flights from Atlanta to Antigua on November 17 of this year, one month earlier than usual, in anticipation of the busy Thanksgiving season that many Americans enjoy in Antigua and Barbuda. The new flights will go on sale from today May 26th
Antigua and Barbuda’s Minister of Tourism, Foreign Affairs & Immigration, Hon. Charles “Max“ Fernandez said, “It’s exciting to be adding additional travel opportunities that will appeal to business and leisure travelers. It is the latest development in our international appeal as a leading warm weather destination. Delta’s decision to expand its services from New York and Atlanta to Antigua is a testament to the wonderful offerings our islands have. This is a prodigious collaboration and we believe that the best results are ahead of us.”
Colin C. James, Chief Executive Officer of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority added: “Delta’s new flight is indicative of the confidence the airline has in Antigua and Barbuda as a premier Caribbean destination. Our destination offers a vacation product that is available at a range of price points and unparalleled selection of activities. We are confident that through Delta’s expansion of its flights out of New York and Atlanta we will increase our visitor arrivals from these important gateways, providing travellers with easy access for them to visit and enjoy all that we have to offer”.
The new Delta JFK service will be especially welcomed by those visitors seeking to tie the knot in Antigua and Barbuda, the region’s leading Wedding and Honeymoon Destination.
