Director of Gender Affairs Mrs Etsu Bradshaw Caines is appealing to the public to refrain from saying negatives things about each other. Speaking on Freedom Fm’s popular talk show “Issues” on Monday afternoon the visibly emotional Gender Affair Director issues a plea for nationals to be compassionate, empathetic and to show love to everyone.
She explained that a kind word may be what is needed to prevent persons from going over the edge.
Mrs Bradshaw Caines called on anyone who is need of someone to confide in to call her.
While a young woman is recovering in the hospital after being rescued from the sea just off of Port Zante details surrounding the incident remain unknown as it has been reported that the woman may have jumped off a pier along the Newtown Bay Road on Friday morning in what appears to be a suicide attempt.
She was pulled from the water and rushed to the hospital.
Rumors circulating on social media on Friday suggested that the woman who is an employee of the Tourism Authority was distraught after receiving a letter of termination from her job. However on Friday evening the Tourism Authority dismissed those charges. Speaking to WINN, Chairman of the Board of the Tourism Authority Nick Menon, dismissed the reports circulating in social media that the young lady had been fired from her post. He said she is a valued employee and her employment was never under threat. “On behalf of her colleagues and her friends at the Tourism Authority, I am appealing for privacy at this personal and difficult time,”
Meanwhile Etsu Bradshaw Caines director of Gender Affairs is calling on the public to surround this young woman with love. Speaking with Sweet Sister Sensia on Saturday, Mrs Caines urged all to place themselves in the position of the victim and to remember that it could be any of us.
