Former Prime Minister The Rt Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas announced that the Labour Movement will have a series of activities to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the birth of the Federation’s first National Hero under the theme: Strength of a Man; Triumph of a People; Forever Fearless! The year long activities will include lecture series, workshops, debate and essay competitions, and other celebratory activities.
The Leader of the Opposition informed the listeners of Freedom FM’s Issues that he will be seeking the support of the Government for the issuance of a commemorative stamp celebrating the centennial anniversary of the birth of His Excellency Sir Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw. In addition, the constituency #6 Parliamentary representative and Labour Party leader, is requesting that the government move into phase 2 of the development of the Robert Bradshaw Memorial Park in St. Pauls.
Dr. Douglas also informed the listeners that his administration had secured a lease agreement for the home of Sir Bradshaw to be converted into a Museum and signalled that the Labour Movement would wish that the commencement of this project coincide with the year long activities planned for 2016.
The official launch of the Robert Bradshaw Centennial Celebration activities is slated for 15 January 2016.
