The spate of robberies and break-ins continued over the weekend when a building shared by FedEx and Customs was broken into sometime between Saturday and Sunday. Freedom Fm is reliably informed that the break-in occurred sometime between Saturday afternoon and Sunday, when a daily routine check revealed the break in.
Freedom News desk was informed that FedEx and Customs officials are currently going through their inventories to ascertain what is missing, It is understood that the thieves ransacked the building and made off with items, It is further reported that the surveillance/ camera security systems, was cut and made dysfunctional as the thieves carried out their acts.
A police press release issued Monday morning indicated
“The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is investigating a Building Breaking and Larceny that occurred at the FedEx Courier Services warehouse in the C. A. P Southwell Industrial Site. Investigations revealed that sometime between Saturday, May 21 and Sunday May 22, an unknown person(s) entered the building and had access to a number of packages being held at the site.
The staff of FedEx is reviewing inventories to identify any missing items. The scene was processed by Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Department and the Crime Scene Unit and the investigation is ongoing.”
