Former Education Minister Senator Nigel Carty says all nationals of SKN should be duly concerned with what is happening at the BHS.
With the recent transfer of BHS Principal Ron Collins and a letter purportedly written by Collins to PM Dr Timothy Harris and Education Minister Shawn Richards, operations at the BHS continue to be the focus of the opposition SKNLP.
Several shocking allegations have been identified in what appears to be a letter addressed to Prime Minister the Honourable Timothy Harris from Bishop Ron Collins, former principal of the Basseterre High School (BHS).
The letter appears to have been emailed to the intended recipients namely the Governor General His Excellency Sir Tapley Seaton, premier of Nevis the Honourable Vance Amory, and minister of Education the Honorable Shawl Richards.
It has been rapidly circulated via Whatsapp and Face book. Some of the allegations supposedly made by Bishop Collins in this letter range from BHS teachers allegedly forging students’ grades to teachers allegedly attempting to illicit sexual favours from students.
The letter also accuses the current minister of Education, Honourable Shawn Richards, of condoning certain irregularities within the schooling institution and being vindictive towards Bishop Collins.
On Wednesday’s edition of Issues, Carty said the situation at the BHS, was not conducive to students academic and personal growth and development. Freedom Fm contacted Education Minister Hon Shawn Richards by telephone but was told he was not available. The Minister’s personal phone invited us to leave a voice mail.
Freedom Fm also contacted Bishop Ron Collins at the BHS, but was told he was no longer the principal there. Calls to Collins’ personal cell number were not returned. Freedom Fm will continue to follow this story.
