KINGSTON, Jamaica — Double Olympic gold medallist, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce announced on social media a short while ago that she is expecting a baby boy.
With a picture of a gender-reveal maternity shoot with husband Jason Pryce, the Olympian said “Then God whispered…. “I know the plans I have for you”. #Hiswill#BabyPryce #MySon #PrycelessJourney”.
The seven-time world champion had announced her pregnancy on March 8, effectively ruling her out of a bid for a third consecutive 100m world crown at London in August.
“New chapter awaits, Hello Motherhood!!! See you soon,” she wrote alongside a photo of herself in the social media post.
Fraser-Pryce, who married husband Jason Pryce in 2011, won 100m world titles in 2009, 2013 and 2015. She also captured the 200m titles in 2013 and was part of triumphant Jamaican 4×100 relays 2008, 2013 and 2015.
In addition to her Olympic 100m crowns, she took 200m silver in 2012 at London and 100m bronze last year at Rio. She also sparked silver medal efforts by Jamaica’s 4×100 relay at London and Rio.
Fans of the track star flocked to her page congratulating her and welcoming the announcement.
