Freedom Fm’s “Issues” returned to the airwaves of Freedom Fm on Monday January 4, 2015 with a review of Security, Parade of Troupes and Sounds for Sugar Mas 44.
Superintendent Terrance James of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is the Divisional Commander for District “A” and said that the security forces mapped out an overall plan which was implemented since the start of carnival activities in November.
James indicated that the operational framework and strategic planning ensured the overall success of National Carnival.
The superintendent said that although there were a few skirmishes and a few arrests but overall jouvert was crime free.
For his part Inspector Caines said that there public service announcements should have been made on all media houses to effectively inform the public of carnival routes and blockages.
One caller to “Issues” said there was a need to remove sidewalk and street booths in a timely manner to ensure smooth flow of traffic by Monday morning a work day.
Meanwhile the organizer of Fhunn Vybes Ashley Allers speaking on the issue of the carnival parade day and the impact of Fhunn Vybes said it was not about winning or losing but in providing an experience for mas players that would enhance the carnival product.
