ek-1Freedom Fm’s popular Issues Talk show host Maurice EK Flanders says it is time for nationals to nature and grow up with regard to the role of politics in government.

Flanders indicated that ignorance fueled political partisan support, which in turn damages the democratic process.

Referring to the Town hall Meeting held by the TUG in Sandy Point last Thursday night, Flanders commented that it was the democratic right of all individual to exercise their constitutional and god given rights, to call in and debate the current issues of the day on the radio station of their choice at anytime and anyplace.

Flanders says it had become a pattern for ministers in government to urge their supporters not to support a particular radio station and then when voted out to return to the same stations and patronize them.

Flanders says this practice is hypocritical as with the growth in technology and access to social media, the democratic process has been broadened, as Face book, Instagram and other social media are being fully utilized to explore governance issues.

He pointed out individuals should be allowed to critique and oppose even the party they support.
