Basseterre, St. Kitts – The St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party’s newest Parliamentarian, the Hon. Konris Maynard is the keynote speaker at this year’s Requiem Mass at the St. Paul’s Parish Church.
Mr. Maynard, the Parliamentary Representative for St. Christopher 3 (West Basseterre), will give the feature address under the theme “Labour’s Legacy: The Solidarity of the Majority ” on Sunday 24th May at 4 pm.
The presentation is also in tribute to the Kittitian Insurgents of 1935, with this year marks the 80th Anniversary of what is known as The Buckley’s Riots.
The Opening Prayer will be said by Rev. Wilfred Daniel. The National Anthem will be sung by Roshaan Francis and Delvin Francis.
Leader of the Opposition and Political Leader of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party, the Right Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas and Chairperson, the Hon. Marcella Liburd will read the First and Second Lessons respectively.
The Prayer of the People will be read by Dr. Joyelle Clarke. The Homily will be delivered by

Senior Party officials, Executive and members of the St. Kitts-Nevis Trades and Labour Union members, the Diplomatic Corps, family members of the fallen leaders and a wide cross section of the local community are expected to attend.
The annual Remembrance Service gives thanks and praise for the service of the early pioneers of the Labour Movement including Thomas Manchester and J. Matthew Sebastian and payx tribute to National Heroes, Their Right Excellencies, Sir Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw, Sir C. A. Paul Southwell and Sir Joseph N. France as well as His Excellency Sir Lee Llewellyn Moore and His Excellency E. St. John Payne, the Hon. Fitzroy C. Bryant and Charles E. Mills.
