Police were on the scene early Tuesday morning at the Island Purified water outlet on Fort Thomas Road and Westbourne Ghaut, investigating a robbery which took place there overnight.
Owner of the island purified water enterprises, Mr Powell told Freedom Fm newsdaesk that the thieves had gained entrance into the property by bashing in the back door entrance.The thieves reportedly took a vault containing cash, cell phones, television sets, coolers,trolleys, microwaves, cash registers, and other items….The plant was thoroughly ransacked.
An employee of the outlet said it was a neighbor who notified Management that some louvers were busted open. Upon further investigation it was discovered that the plant was thoroughly ransacked. The police were subsequently called.
A notice from the management on Tuesday stated that “The Management of Island Purified Water wishes to advise its valued customers that due to a break in at its outlet located on Westbourne Ghaut, the outlet will be closed and its delivery service has been suspended today only, Tuesday 9th May, 2017.Normal operations will resume tomorrow, Wednesday 10th May, 2017 at the Westbourne Ghaut outlet.We apologize for this inconvenience.
