King Dis N Dat Keith Scarborough is the new Senior calypso monarch for Culturama 42. In the process Dis n Dat prevented a back to back victory by King Astro as never in the history of Culturama has anyone won back-to-back kaiso titles.
Dis N Dat won the TDC Senior Kaiso King (816 points) – 1st runner up (785 points) – Astro, 2nd runner up (752 points) – Hollywood. De King sang “the Solution” in the first round when he dressed like an SKN Police Inspector as he sang about the unrelenting crime situation in Nevis and in the second round he sang “The MBE” highlighting the fact that he was awarded an MBE in this year’s Queen’s Honor’s List for his contribution to culture and hitting hard at his rival Astro.
King Dis n Dat is regarded as one of the finest kaisonians not just in Nevis but regionally as well. He has participated in every Culturama Kaiso competition since the inception of the annual Nevis Culturama Festival that is a whopping 42 yrs he has been doing this and has become Calypso King some 15 times. Congrats to King Dís N Dat.
