After what seems like a continuous bad run of chief executive officers (CEO), regional airline Liat is preparing to hire a third CEO in less than four years.
Acting CEO, Julie Reifer-Jones said, “The position was advertised and we’re using an external agency to assist in that recruitment … I would assume that, hopefully, an appointment should be made in the next three months at least.”
Reifer-Jones also told OBSERVER media that she is being considered for the position.
Asked why she would want to take up such a challenging position, the Acting CEO said after being Chief Financial Officer at LIAT for eight years, she feels like an intricate part of the company.
“I am committed to Liat. For me, it’s an important regional organisation. I would like to see it succeed; I think it can succeed. In that regard, I would like to be part of the process to see it reach a point where it is succeeding,” she explained.
