A man from the Basseterre area who was charged with two counts of Rape was granted bail on April 16.
At a High Court appearance, bail was granted to the Accused in the sum of $100,000 with two sureties and the following conditions: (1) he is to report to the Basseterre Police Station twice per week on Mondays and Fridays between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.; (2) he is to observe a daily curfew at his residence at Jones Street, Basseterre, between the hours of 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.; (3) he is not to have any contact or interfere with any witnesses in this case either acting in person or through his servants or agents and whether directly or indirectly; (4) he is not to come within 100 meters of the Complainant; (5) he is to surrender his passport to the Registrar of the High Court on or before 9 a.m. on April 17, 2018; (6) he is to surrender any and all firearms in his possession to the Commissioner of Police on or before 9 a.m. on April 17, 2018; (7) he is to keep the peace and be of good behavior; and (8) any breach of any of these conditions of bail will result in its immediate revocation.
