PARAMARIBO, Suriname, May 24, CMC – A mother and her 10-year-old child were found murdered in an apartment Tuesday, Police said.
They said 37-year-old Leelawattie Sookhoo and her daughter, Tisha Ahtram, were found strangled at their apartment in Nieuw Amsterdam, a village in District Commewijne.
Police said that they were directed to the building after the employer of the woman’s boyfriend said he had failed to turn up for work.
In a statement, the police said that it appeared that a rope had been use to strangle the women and the whereabouts of the boyfriend are still unknown.
