Nevis’ Reformation Party Robelto Hector, while not directly pushing a secessionist agenda, believes that Nevis must have full political autonomy and more independence to run their affairs.
Speaking on Freedom Fm’s Issues on Tuesday, Hector was asked if the constitutional changes envisaged by the NRP at its recent convention, meant a separation from the Federal Government.
Hector who said he preferred not to get into terminologies maintained however that the NRP was opting for an arrangement where Nevisians would have more representation and where Kittitians would not feel that they were being blackmailed.
“I am not going to get into the calling of names. Nevis as a society when it comes to full political autonomy it must be in Nevis and it must be one in which we can move and have representation for ourselves. And that is clear, it won’t affect relations it’s not going to stop you from coming over, it would continue. I am thinking, we cannot have situations where a man would say he ain’t sending money in the consolidated fund, but when he wants 10 million $, you have to send it” declared Hector.
