HonTimothyHarrisSwornInCeremony-1Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Hon Dr Timothy Harris has confirmed that Former Pm Dr Denzil L Douglas’ passport was indeed revoked. Speaking at a constituency meeting in Tabernacle recently. Prime Minister Harris said that he has clear information that on the 14th January 2015, just two days before the then Prime Minister dissolved parliament, officials of the US Government visited the federation.

Prime Minister Harris told the constituents that the recent statement issued by Dr Douglas in which he asserted that said that the Team Unity government had revoked diplomatic passportsof all former government ministers after the election was not factual as Team Unity had nothing to do with Dr Douglas losing his visa.

Dr Douglas who charged the new government with creating propaganda to distract the nation said in that statement that they had been informed that they would have to reapply for the visas that were contained in the passports.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon Mark Brantley however, denied that the diplomatic passports of the former ministers had been revoked, He explained to local media recently that the former government ministers were issued the passports in a particular capacity and since that capacity had changed, it was expected that the would return the passports.
