(Monday, July 25, 2016): The federation of St. Kitts and Nevis today recorded its 20th murder for 2016.
The official police report states that “The Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) is investigating a shooting incident on Cardin Avenue that has resulted in the death of one person, a 22 year old male resident of the area.”
The police public relations department said that the shooting of Clevaughn “Fetti” Berkley of St. Johnston’s Village occurred at around 11.30am on Monday,
Initial investigations revealed that the victim was shot by an unknown assailant(s) while sitting under a tree in the area. He was taken to the Joseph N. France General Hospital for treatment and later died of his injuries.
Investigators from the Violent Crimes Unit and the Criminal Investigations Department and technicians from the Forensics Services Unit have canvassed the scene for evidence. The investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile murder #21 took place in Nevis “high day” Monday. Freedom fm is reliably informed that a Nevis fisherman was shot to death in the Paradise/Jessups Beach area of Nevis earlier today.
