The sad news has been received of the recent passing of popular Doctor and Sportsman, Dr. H.M. Stephen Steve Claxton.
Dr. Claxton was a well known public servant, private medical practitioner, general Surgeon and specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
In addition to serving the general public in both St.Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Claxton was one of the privileged few who could boast of representing both St.Kitts and Nevis at different times, as a competent opening batsman.
He also represented the University of the West Indies at both Cricket and Football and also left his mark at the Grammar school in St.Kitts as a track and field athlete.
Prime Minister, Dr. Timothy Harris, on learning of his passing stated:
‘In the time that we were blessed to have him with us, he touched many lives……
Steve was a man of many parts but most of all he was a family man. A dedicated and loving husband and a doting father. He will be sorely missed. Our Federation is poorer for the gigantic void now created by his sudden and untimely departure.
I ask the nation to join me in prayer for his family during this very difficult time.’
Dr. Claxton leaves to mourn his wife Dr. Jacqueline Claxton, his children, his family, colleagues in the public service and medical profession, his numberless patients and also his many friends at home and abroad.
