Basseterre, St. Kitts, 11th June 2016 – The St. Kitts Music Festival Committee has finalized the artistes to appear on the 20th Anniversary production of the festival, and has named the final artiste for the show.
The final addition was announced Friday night, 10th June, at the Boozies on the Beach Restaurant and Bar at the famous Frigate Bay Strip, when Music Festival officials made public the final list of artistes for this year’s show.
Chart toppers Brother duo R-City has been added to the festival. Originally from the US Virgin Islands and well known in the international music industry, the rap duo behind the smash hit “Locked AWAY” featuring Adam Levine have been performing together since they were elementary school students on the island of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
R City is promising to TUN UP the St.Kitts Music Festival VI/SKN/International Style.From their humble beginnings growing up in the rough and tumble housing projects in St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands to their current incarnation as hit makers on a mission, Theron and Timothy Thomas have successfully introduced their feel-good fusion of Caribbean soca, hip-hop, reggae and dancehall tunes to the world and, by all accounts, birthed the recent trend of Island Pop Music
The St.Thomas brothers have written and produced for several prominent artists, including Jamaican singer Sean Kingston (“Take You There“), American singer Miley Cyrus (“We Can’t Stop“), Trinidadian rapper Nicki Minaj (“Only“) and Barbadian popstar Rihanna (“Pour It Up“).
The duo has also contributed to numerous Grammy-nominated albums including Rihanna’s Unapologetic (which won Best Urban Contemporary Album), Jennifer Hudson’s self-titled album (which won Best R&B Album), and Ariana Grande‘s My Everything (which was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album).
