Minister of Education, the Honourable Shawn K. Richards says the turnout at a recent Ministry of Education workshop for teachers held on Monday at the Rivers of Water Christian center signals an important start for the new 2016-2017 school year.
Richards said teachers had used the summer break to relax, rejuvenate and retool their perspectives for the upcoming new year of school. He admonished the teachers assembled to deliver a quality educational product that would engage their students to be more productive going forward.
Richards urged teachers to recognize the value in each student and to maximize that potential to the best of their abilities. Meanwhile the missing marks for Social Studies SBA’s for BHS students have been received.
This was confirmed by Minister of Education Honourable Shawn K. Richards who confirmed this on Tuesday morning and noted that 45 out of 60 students had passed the subject. Earlier media reports had indicated that the SBA’s for BHS students writing Social Studies had not been submitted on time to the Caribbean Examination Council and the students had not been graded.
To date no official statement has been issued as to why and how this situation took place.
