A debate on the moot “the atrocity of our age is the billions of dollars spent on sports” brought down the curtains on the 45th Leeward Islands Debating Competition (LIDC) Sunday night with a jubilant Team Nevis declared the winner.
Team Nevis led by, Rol-J Williams and seconded by Gabriella Brantley, amassed 578 points to defeat last year’s champions Antigua with 489 points in the Leeward Islands Debating Competition Finals held at the Nevis Performing Arts Centre.

The debates were carried live nightly on NTV online, THG network with Freedom Fm joining in to carry the Finals.
