I want to pay tribute to my friend (one of my adopted sons) Gregory Mills. It is truly painful for me to do this. Gregory was tragically gunned down on Tuesday afternoon at Gillard Meadows.
The news sent shockwaves throughout the land. Greg was 27 years old and would have turned 28 yesterday. Greg was the owner of Greg’s Pizza on the junction of Cayon Street and Upper College Street.
He was a hard worker and his business was taking off as his pizzas were tasty and left you wanting more. Greg was humble, polite, intelligent, friendly, generous and progressive. He loved people and many loved him in return. He had great ideas for his business and looked to the future with excitement. He employed other young people with whom he had a great working relationship. All of this came to a crashing halt on Tuesday when Greg’s life and all his hopes were snuffed out with another senseless killing. Why???
I want to ask all of us as citizens of St Kitts and Nevis to raise your voices throughout all of the communities and take appropriate actions to bring an end to the scourge of crime that is overwhelming our Federation. Let’s use Greg’s tragic and senseless killing as the springboard for our actions. I extend heartfelt sympathies to his mom, Patrice Mills, his father, Henry Mills, his sisters, Giselle and Janelle and all the rest of his family, his co- workers, classmates and friends. Rest in peace, my son. My heart aches…..
