A small business owner who was part of a group making death threats, was chopped and died on Monday.
Sheldon Ramdhan sustained a wound to the neck and was pronounced dead at hospital.
Ramdhan, 38, of Coalmine, was the owner of a chicken depot and DVD club.
Police said that the suspect turned himself into the Arima CID on Tuesday.
A police report said that at around 9.30 p.m. Ramdhan and a group of men went to a house at Palmiste Drive, Sangre Grande.
Police were told that Ramdhan and the group began threatening people at the house, allegedly shouting “We come to kill all of you in the house”.
One of the members of the house allegedly armed himself with a cutlass and confronted Ramdhan and the group in the yard.
Police were told that when other members of the household went outside they saw Ramdhan bleeding from a chop wound to the neck.
Ramdhan was taken to the Sangre Grande Area Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Responding were Insp Etienne, PC Oliver and others of the Homicide Region II and Sangre Grande CID.
An autopsy is expected to be performed at the Forensic Sciences Centre on Tuesday.
The killing took the murder toll to 242 according to an Express tally.
