Legal luminary Charles Wilkin is advocating constitutional reform in SKN, but says there is an overall disposition not to change certain entrenched clauses in the constitution.
Speaking on WINN Fm’s talk show recently, Wilkin said in today’s political and social environment the chances of changing these entrenched clauses is virtually nil.
Wilkin says there is a more realistic hance of changing the unentrenched clauses, which can be changed by government with a 2/3 majority vote.
Wilkin then looked at issues of governance in SKN, and said the Team Unity Government had promised while in opposition to implement integrity in public life, freedom of information legislation, campaign finance legislation and civil service reform, were all promised by Team Unity.
Wilkin charged the 2/3 majority is there for the government to fulfill these governance requirements.
