A woman is in hospital after being stabbed multiple times about her body during an attack on Saturday night and her boyfriend has been taken into custody.
Police say the wounding incident occurred in the Dieppe Bay area and they received the report of the stabbing at about 6:45 p.m.
“Investigations so far have revealed that 28-year-old Myrthlyn Mitchell of Dieppe Bay was attacked and stabbed several times about the body with a knife. She was transported to the Pogson Medical Centre by the Police and was subsequently transferred to the JNF Hospital. Mitchell is currently listed as being in a stable condition. The offender fled the scene, but was later taken into custody by the Police. Members of the Forensic Services Unit visited and processed the scene.’
Freedom FM understands the suspect, who has children with the victim, was subsequently nabbed in Newtown where he is from. He reportedly was living with Mitchell and her mother at the time of the incident. As at news time Monday he had not been identified or charged with an offence.
